Guidance

Videography and production by Erin Bormett, Liv Paggiarino and Hailey Hofer.

Rexanna Ipock-Brown combines her transmedium abilities with her Tarot practice, and enters a state of self-hypnosis before every reading to allow the energy of her own spirit guides, her client and her client’s guides to facilitate the session. Within the state of hypnosis, she imagines herself in a white room, and there her guides show her images or point her in the direction of the answers she is seeking. She said she had to learn how to discern whether the guides she encountered in her mind were actually hers, and she has now come to know a few that regularly help her with her readings.

Social Media Teaser: Retired Women Find Themselves Living in Poverty

Retired women are more likely than men to live below the poverty line. In Missouri, this trend can be seen with Candy Sieben, as she struggles to make ends meet. This is a social media teaser video I produced for a class project on the retirement wage gap found in Missouri in 2017.

Video Portrait: Olivia Liu

Olivia Liu is a journalism student at the University of Missouri. However, between classes her classmates can find Liu making bike repairs in Speaker's Circle, a central hub on the MU campus. Liu is a bike mechanic for the Bike Resource Center. This is a story I produced for a group project for a class.
